THE TWO OF US
dream what you want to dream, go where you want to go,be what you want to be; because you only have one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do.

Giorraíonn beirt bóthar.
Two shorten the road.
“Take care of all your memories. For you cannot relive them.” BOB DYLAN
No one realizes how beautiful it is to travel until he comes home
and rests his head on his old, familiar pillow. - Lin Yutang
Irish Proverb
“If you wait to do everything until you're sure it's right, you'll probably never do much of anything.”
Win Borden
“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”

“When all's said and done, all roads lead to the same end. So it's not so much which road you take, as how you take it.”

As you ramble through life, whatever be your goal;
Keep your eye upon the doughnut, and not upon the hole.

THE TWO OF US.........
have walked in the footsteps of the huns and the romans; have admired the grand palaces of great kings and popes; have visited the workspaces and birthplaces of great inventors and musicians; have sat down to dinner with with the less fortunate in war torn areas and visited with the aboriginal children in faraway distant lands; we can say good morning in some twenty plus languages; we have withdrawn $68,000 (forints) from an ATM so we could spend $4500.00 for a coke and pizza; have walked countless streets and trails never knowing where they might take us; have hiked through the desert, up onto the mountains, down into extinct volcanoes, and across the glaciers and icefields, through the plains and forests with the bison and the grizzlies; we listened to a great many conversations not having any idea what was being said; we now have enough frequent flyer miles for two roundtrip tickets to mars; we have probably not slept in the U.S. for at least three years of our lives; have seen many of the world's greatest cities , buildings, monuments of all sorts, amazing natural wonders, more different foods than we knew ever existed, and a lot of really, really cool people to be found on this planet; and we have had the time of our lives doing it!
we have been very fortunate to have been able to visit so many places around the world. we have already visited some fifty plus different countries, six of the seven continents, countless National Parks, both here and abroad, and a large number of UNESCO world heritage sites. I know there are a great many people out there who have not been able to get out and see the world we live in, so I created this site hoping some of them may find it and see the world as I have seen it. It is a truly wonderful place that we all should see and experience!
as for us , my wife anita and I live in southeastern massachusetts for the past twenty -two years. anita has worked in the travel industry for the past sixteen years, so you could say that played a big part in our ability to travel. when we are not traveling or working, we have been restoring a two hundred year old home for the past twelve years. we also have five grandchildren to help fill up the time.
no matter how near or far, how great or small the journey, in the end, the best part is still going home...............
"there's no next time; it's now or never!"
it takes great courage to see the world in all it's tainted glory, and still to love it.

My theory on life is that life is beautiful. Life doesn't change. You have a day, and a night, and a month, and a year. We people change - we can be miserable or we can be happy. It's what you make of your life.
Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum
My theory on life is to try and do all the things you want to do. Have fun!
Try as many new things as you find interesting. Go and see as many new places as you can, and do it with the ones you love the most! I do not want to waste a day in my life just to spend it sleeping because I think I am tired. Life passes us by so quickly! I have always said; "when i am dead, I can lie around and do nothing as long as I want!"
GET OFF THE COUCH!
For once you have tasted flight you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skywards, for there you have been and there you will long to return.
Leonardo da Vinci
I bought a t-shirt many years ago while hiking in Montana, mostly for my mother to see. She was always nervous when I went hiking and climbing out in the mountains. She would always say; "you have kids and grandkids, don't you want to be around and see them grow up?" My answer was always of course I do, but I want to live MY life MY way. Well, the kids are in their forties now and the grandkids range from 4 to 14, and I am still here. The shirt in question read:
"you can fall off a cliff and die,
you can run out of food and die, you can be attacked by a bear and die,
OR you can stay at home and fall off the couch and die!"
